The Cost of Downtime

Please download and read the second piece of the Kemplink article series on fast charging cables and connector reliability: The Cost of Downtime A charger that isn't charging isn't a technical problem. It's a revenue problem. For a charge point operator, uptime maps directly to income — every hour a charger sits dark is an hour of lost revenue, while the bills (site lease, network fees, maintenance) keep running regardless. Most networks lean on a familiar uptime benchmark and call it good. Run the actual math, though, and even that "good" number quietly adds up to real money lost every year — and cable and connector failures turn out to be the most expensive kind of downtime a CPO faces, for reasons that have nothing to do with the repair bill itself. That's the subject of our second article in the series, "The Cost of Downtime."
