Human Factors in HPC Charging

Picture the moment right after you park at a fast charger: you get out, and you lift the cable.
For a lot of drivers, that's the point where charging stops feeling like the future and starts feeling like a chore. For some drivers, it's the point where they simply can't use the charger at all.
High-power DC charging pushes serious current through a cable, and that means serious copper — there's no getting around that. But how well that weight is designed around, balanced, and handled turns out to vary enormously between cables. And that gap has real consequences: it's a genuine accessibility barrier for a meaningful share of drivers, not just a comfort issue for everyone else.
Weight itself is hard to engineer away. What isn't hard to engineer — with the right approach — is how that weight actually feels in someone's hand.
We wrote up why this keeps getting overlooked, and what we think the real lever is, in "Human Factors in HPC Charging" — the fourth piece in our series on cable and connector reliability.
